When you donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada, you keep families close. No matter the size, the cumulative impact of the gifts you give – whether monetary, in kind, or volunteer hours – is profound.
Donations directly support our five programs and help cultivate a home-away-from-home for families with a child receiving treatment at an area hospital. In addition, your donations can help students go to college and help families obtain education and resources that set them up for healthier lifestyles.

The average family stays at the Reno Ronald McDonald House for six nights. Our average occupancy rate is 45% (number of families at the House on a given day). This means on average there is 4-5 families on a given day staying at the House. In 2015, 60 percent of guest families were dealing with their child’s premature birth.
In 2015, the average cost of a hotel room in Reno/Sparks was $95 (NNBW link). For a family to afford a stay in Reno during their child’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit stay, a stay upwards of 60 days, that would cost $5,700, on top of food costs and pending medical bills. When you donate, you help relieve the financial and emotional stress that comes with their child’s hospital stay.
